Who we are?

We are a Baptist church, which started in 1995, as a result of a growing vision in the 1st Baptist church. Many people who are in our new church were working in the 1st Baptist Church, where I also was working with the youth, and with young couples for over 7 years.
After prayer and fasting for 3 weeks, with the pastor of the 1st Congregation, we all saw that the best way for developing Gods Kingdom in our city would be to start a new church in an area where there is no evangelical church.
So 22 people were send to start this new church. We had nothing, just warm hearts! Since we started this new work, we have seen how wonderful our God is, leading us step by step.

For over 2 years, we could rent a room in a culture  house, in an area of Poznan with 140.000 people, which had no evangelical  church before. In human eyes - we had no chance to have a stable place with the building. In 1997, God has done great miracle - we could take back the church building that was build in 1910 and after 2nd World War taken from the church by communist government.

The church is growing. Now we have 94 members. There  are about 20 another people who are friends of the church. Praise the Lord!  Only 5% of our members comes from born again families - the rest 95% could  hear the Gospel as adult persons. Our ages are mostly between 22 - 40. We  have 18 married couples who are committed and involved in ministry. On Sunday  morning services we have between 80 - 100 people. Our Sunday School     also meets regularly and we have 20-25 children coming all together.

In our church we already have 6 home groups . Almost everyone in the church attends these groups. We see it as an important part of our church life in developing new leaders, and providing a place for new believers to grow together in Christ. We also have prayer meetings, where we can experience the blessing of praying together. Once every few months, we arrange weekends for everyone coming to our church, and for our friends. We go together to a small village near Poznan and we stay together, have fellowship, study Bible, and pray for each other etc.

Our desire is to win this city for Christ in His Power! We go to the streets, to show pantomimes, share testimonies and to preach the Gospel. In our church we have people whom we call ,,children of the street ", because they heard the Gospel on the street. We can also preach the Gospel in high schools, where we arrange different kinds of meetings. Every month, we do evangelism. We distribute many invitations, put up posters. ask local news, magazines, radio and TV stations to give out information, etc. By the grace of God this brings fruit.
Our Lord has blessed our fellowship with many talented and educated musicians (6 of them could finish musical university). This is allowing us to worship Lord and preach the Gospel through concerts etc.

Our desire is to be open to serve with other churches, so we work with 1st Baptist Church and with other evangelical churches.

Since the beginning of our church we have had 15 baptism-services, where 49 new born again people were baptized.
